GLOSSARY
CNH DISTRICT // California Nevada Hawaii District (commonly called Cali-Nev-Ha)
The district that we, Kennedy Key Club, is a part of, and it includes the Key Clubs from the states California, Nevada, and Hawaii. A district is a collection of several regions.
D30S // Division 30 South
Division 30 South includes Anaheim, Cypress, Fairmont, Katella, Kennedy, Loara, Los Alamitos, Magnolia, Oxford, Rosary, Savanna, Servite, Western, and Whitney. A division is a collection of several schools within an area.
DCM // Divisional Council Meeting
A monthly meeting where officers and members from school Key Clubs within a division gather to get updates and announcements on projects, events, and statuses. Also, clubs and members get recognized for their exceptional service!
DCON // District Convention
An annual event where Key Clubbers from the entire district (CNH District for us) come together for a weekend filled with spirit, fun, and learning. Many spirit battles and cheering take place, and district officers are elected here.
DP // District Project
Each district is assigned a certain focus for its projects, which is its district project. Our district project is Project Shine: Bringing Light into Someone's Life.
ICON // International Convention
An annual convention where representatives from Key Clubs all across the world come together to demonstrate their spirit, learn about Key Club, and elect international officers.
MNT // Maternal Neonatal Tetanus
With The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNI-CEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal teta-nus. This deadly disease steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the disease are excruciating— tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. So far, we have eliminated it from several countries, such as China, Sierra and Leone, etc.
PTP // Pediatric Trauma Program
Program established by the Kiwanis Cali-Nev-Ha Foundation in 1994 after recognizing the serious need for education and training in pediatric trauma and injury prevention. Our GoFundMe and most of our other fundraisers support this program.
